SpaShopper offers this Waterway Executive dual-speed spa circulation pump rated at 16.4 Amps with a 56 frame motor operating on 230 Volts. This 5 HP 2" X 2" pump features an Executive Wet End assembly that rotates to four positions (12, 3, 6, or 9 o'clock) for flexible installation, plus includes a bleeder fitting option to replace commonly broken original bleeders during service.

Verify your pump specifications by checking the motor label amperage rating, not the listed horsepower. For 2-speed models, you'll find two amp ratings (example: 10.0/3.5 - the higher number indicates high-speed draw). Use this amperage guide for accurate HP identification: 8.0A = 1 HP | 10.0A = 2 HP | 12.0A = 3 HP | 14.0A = 4 HP | 16.0A = 5 HP. IMPORTANT: Motor labels often overstate horsepower ratings. Always reference amperage for true specifications. Many spa owners believe they have 5 HP pumps, but actual electrical calculations prove otherwise. Example: Two genuine 5 HP pumps (16A each = 32A) plus a 5.5 KW heater (21A) totals 53 AMPS - exceeding typical 50 AMP hot tub breakers. Amperage ratings provide honest specifications regardless of marketing claims.

Frame size identification guide: Measure motor width across the back housing. A 48 Frame measures approximately 5 3/4" wide, while a 56 Frame measures approximately 6 1/2" wide.

For 230 Volt pump verification: Locate the amperage specifications on your motor label. Two-speed pumps display dual ratings (example format: 10.0/3.5) where the first/higher number represents high-speed amperage draw. Single-speed models show one amperage value.
