This specialized adapter enables conversion from the legacy Hayward 2" thin-threaded union configuration to a 1-1/2" threaded connection, providing compatibility with standard 1-7/8" O.D. wet end assemblies.
Important Compatibility Information: The Hayward thin-threaded pump union features distinctive fine-pitch threading and slightly reduced dimensions compared to standard 2" threaded unions. While standard unions measure approximately 3" across the internal threads or union interior, the Hayward version measures approximately 2-15/16" internally. These unique Hayward threads are noticeably finer and tighter than conventional threading.
This particular adapter is designed to convert the old-style Hayward union thread to accommodate standard threaded pump wet ends, facilitating the installation of any pump with conventional union threads into Hayward-specific applications.
