Temperature Sensors

Temperature sensors are critical components used in hot tubs and spas to monitor
water temperature and communicate that information to the control system. These
sensors regulate heating operation by telling the control board when to turn the
heater on or off to maintain the set temperature.

Temperature sensors do not generate heat and do not cause overheating. Their role
is to accurately report water temperature so the system can operate correctly.
When temperature sensors fail they commonly cause incorrect temperature readings
error codes no heat conditions or unstable temperature control.

This category includes spa temperature sensors used in a wide range of control
systems. Temperature sensors vary by brand resistance value connector type cable
length and control system compatibility and must be matched correctly.

Common symptoms of a faulty temperature sensor include spa heating too hot or too
cold temperature not matching the display error messages failure to heat or the
spa shutting down unexpectedly. Sensor drift corrosion scale buildup or moisture
intrusion can affect accuracy over time.

Temperature sensors are often confused with hi-limit sensors. While both monitor
temperature they serve different functions. Temperature sensors regulate normal
heating operation while hi-limit sensors act as a safety shutoff to stop continued
overheating.

Installing the wrong temperature sensor can result in incorrect readings system
errors or improper heater operation.

Before ordering identify the spa brand control system model and existing sensor
part number. Sensors that look similar may not be interchangeable.

If you are unsure which temperature sensor is correct for your spa do not guess.
