Watkins / HotSpring

Watkins temperature sensors are used in Watkins spa control systems including
HotSpring Tiger River Caldera and Solana hot tubs to measure water temperature and
regulate normal heating operation. These sensors provide accurate temperature data
to the control board so the heater can cycle on and off to maintain the selected
water temperature.

Temperature sensors do not generate heat and do not cause overheating. Their role
is to accurately report water temperature to the control system. When a
temperature sensor fails it may send incorrect readings or stop communicating
with the control board.

Common symptoms of a faulty Watkins temperature sensor include incorrect water
temperature displayed on the topside heater not turning on water heating too hot
or too cold error codes related to temperature sensing or unstable heating
operation. Sensor drift corrosion scale buildup or moisture intrusion can affect
accuracy over time.

Watkins temperature sensors are proprietary and must be matched exactly by spa
model control system generation and part number. These sensors are not
interchangeable with standard aftermarket sensors even if they appear similar.

Temperature sensors are often confused with hi-limit sensors. While both monitor
temperature they serve different purposes. Temperature sensors regulate normal
heating operation while hi-limit sensors act as a safety shutoff to stop continued
overheating.

Installing the wrong temperature sensor can result in inaccurate readings heater
problems system errors or improper operation.

Before ordering identify the exact HotSpring Tiger River Caldera or Solana spa
model and existing temperature sensor part number. Using the incorrect sensor can
result in system errors or unsafe operation.

If you are unsure which Watkins temperature sensor is correct for your spa do not
guess. Text clear photos of the existing sensor control box and wiring connections
and we will help confirm the correct replacement before you order.
