Impellers

Impellers are the rotating water-moving components inside spa pump wet ends, determining flow rate, pressure, and jet performance. These replacement impellers are sold individually to fit specific pump models and wet ends, allowing targeted repairs for weak flow, cavitation, or impeller damage without replacing the entire pump assembly.

This category offers replacement impellers compatible with major pump brands: Waterway (Executive, Viper, EX2, Hi-Flo series), Aqua-Flo (XP2, XP2e, XP3), Balboa (universal impellers), Gecko (in.stream series), Laing (circulation impellers), and others. Common types: high-flow (for strong jets), low-flow (for circulation), keyed or threaded shaft fits, and various sizes (1.5HP–5HP ratings).

Impellers vary by pump series/model, horsepower rating (1HP–5HP), shaft type (threaded or keyed), flow style (high-flow vs. low-flow), material (noryl or composite), and wet-end compatibility—precise matching ensures correct GPM output, no cavitation, and proper fit inside the volute/diffuser.

Common problems include weak jets from worn or damaged impellers, cavitation/noise from cracked blades or mismatched size, restricted flow from scale/mineral buildup on impeller vanes, or complete pump failure from a broken impeller. Replacing the impeller is a cost-effective fix—often requires pump disassembly and reassembly with new seals.

To select the right impeller:
- Identify your spa brand/model, year, pump brand/model (e.g., Waterway Executive, Aqua-Flo XP2e), horsepower/speed, wet end type, shaft type (threaded/keyed), and any markings on the existing impeller.
- Note symptoms (weak/no jet flow, cavitation noise, vibration, pump overheating), or visible impeller damage (cracks, worn vanes, scale).
- Avoid guessing—send us clear photos of the pump wet end (showing impeller blades/vanes, shaft type, volute/diffuser opening, pump label/model, and spa label with model/serial number) for expert verification.
