Balboa Water Group

Balboa Water Group temperature sensors are used in Balboa spa control systems to
measure water temperature and regulate normal heating operation. These sensors
communicate real-time temperature data to the control board so the heater can
cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.

Temperature sensors do not generate heat and do not cause overheating. Their role
is to accurately report water temperature so the system can operate correctly.
When a temperature sensor fails it may report incorrect readings or stop
communicating with the control system altogether.

Common symptoms of a faulty Balboa temperature sensor include incorrect water
temperature displayed on the topside spa heating too hot or too cold heater not
turning on error codes related to temperature sensing or unstable heating
behavior. Sensor drift corrosion scale buildup or moisture intrusion can affect
accuracy over time.

Balboa temperature sensors vary by resistance value connector style cable length
and control system compatibility and must be matched correctly to the specific
Balboa system in use. Sensors that look similar may not be interchangeable.

Temperature sensors are often confused with hi-limit sensors. While both monitor
temperature they serve different purposes. Temperature sensors control normal
heating operation while hi-limit sensors act as a safety shutoff to stop continued
overheating.

Installing the wrong temperature sensor can result in inaccurate readings heater
problems or system errors.

Before ordering identify the Balboa control system model and existing temperature
sensor part number. Some Balboa systems use separate temperature and hi-limit
sensors while others use combination sensors depending on the generation of the
control system.

If you are unsure which Balboa temperature sensor is correct for your spa do not
guess. Text clear photos of the existing sensor control box and wiring connections
and we will help confirm the correct replacement before you order.
